Frequently Asked Questions about our Junior Summer Camps

What is the difference between a NIKE Golf Camp at Torrey Pines and our Twilight Junior Summer Camp?

Registration for the NIKE Golf Camps is hosted by US Sports Camps and includes a NIKE branded amenity package and early dinner at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. These camps are designed for teen and pre-teen junior golfers with a good grasp of the fundamentals and previous on-course experience. Contact our Head Golf Professional, Joe DeBock, PGA at (858)452-3226 ext. 227 to register your child in a Nike Junior Golf Camp.

Our Twilight Junior Summer Camps are conducted later in the day and are designed for youngsters primarily working on their fundamentals and those new to the game. No previous on-course experience is required. Registration for the Twilight Summer Camps is available at our online store.

Where and what time do we check-in on the first day of our summer camp?

Camp check-in for both the NIKE Golf Camps at Torrey Pines and Twilight programs is located at our South driving range. It should be fairly easy to spot the check-in station as there will be lots of kids, parents, and golf equipment in the general vicinity of the registration table.

As you enter the main parking lot continue driving to the end of the lot, well past the 30 minute parking spots. Torrey Pines Golf Course is located at 11480 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, California. Click here to see directions to Torrey Pines on Google Maps. If you are coming from either of the two hotel properties within walking distance of the golf shop, you can request a shuttle ride to the South range from the attendants working near the number one tee boxes.

Does my child need golf equipment?

We will provide right or left handed golf clubs for teens without their own equipment who have reached 5 feet (60 inches) or taller at no additional charge. Pre-teens and youngsters under 5 feet tall should bring their own clubs as we can not guarantee that correctly fitted equipment will be available for them. Twilight Camp participants will need to bring golf balls for play on the course.

Unless there is a medical reason that prevents it, all campers will be required to walk the golf course. We can provide pull/push carts for campers with full size clubs. Campers with junior-sized clubs should be prepared to carry their bags or bring an appropriately sized pull/push cart to camp.

Golf shoes are encouraged but not required. If your junior golfer does not have golf shoes, their shoes should be comfortable, provide lateral support and have soles that do not slip in grass (running shoes with aggressive tread designs work well).

Other items to make your campers more comfortable during their time with us: sun block, a golf cap, sunglasses, a golf glove, light snacks (energy bars work well) and bottled water. Because we often experience cool ocean breezes near the end of the day, we suggest your junior golfer pack a wind shirt or sweatshirt.
